Behind The Brand: Josh Rosebrook
With the start of this new series, I want to give you an insight into the philosophy and approach of a brand, as well as reviewing the products I own from that particular brand. I am starting off with one of my absolute favorite brands out there - Josh Rosebrook.

Josh started out as a stylist, working in hair salons. In his 20's he learned about the potency and effectiveness of pure plant ingredients and how they support true skin and hair health. His interest in pure plant ingredients grew more and more, but he realized that those were hardly available. So he started creating his own formulations and eventually also diving into skincare. After developing his cult product the Cacao Antioxidant Mask, his brand Josh Rosebrook Skin and Hair Care was born.
What I love most about this brand is Josh's approach to skincare. First of all, he is the kindest, most genuine and humble person. He doesn’t just add a product to his line for the sake of it, he is very thoughtful about creating a new product and its purpose. The ingredients are of such high quality and you can feel it. They are such a treat to use and I haven’t tried any product from his line that I disliked.
His approach to skincare is very holistic and far more than just about the products that are applied topically to treat certain symptoms.
The products are more seen as a support and preventative measure for your skin. You actually have to look further than just your skincare routine, I am talking diet, allergy, exercise, and stress. This is what he calls ‘skin DAES’ (pronounced days). This approach makes so much sense to me as our gut and mental health etc. plays such a crucial role in how our skin looks. I definitely recommend checking out his social media channels if you are interested to learn more about it.
A brand overview wouldn’t be a brand overview if I didn’t talk about some products! Let me talk you through the products I own from his line. While reading about the products you will understand that Josh Rosebrook's line is all about replenishing and retaining skin's hydration levels and vitality.
Hydrating Accelerator

This product right here has holy grail/desert island status. It is hands down the best hydrating mist I have tried so far. I know this is a big statement but have a look at the gorgeous ingredient list that reads like a poem of beautiful organic oils. According to Josh, this product is formulated with herbal-vitamin-infused aloe juice and a blend of fatty acids that are designed to move beyond the acid mantle barrier which results in hydration of the deeper layers of the skin. It’s a really popular product for a reason and I can recommend it for any skin type!
I’ve used up 4 or 5 bottles so far and I don’t think I will stop repurchasing.
Advanced Hydration Mask

This mask is heavenly! First of all, the scent is so beautiful and calming due to the blue tansy and blue chamomile oil. It's designed to replenish and retain skin cell hydration and the fourth ingredient on the INCI list is Indian Senna seed extract known as ‘botanical hyaluronic acid’ which makes this product a truly powerful hydrating treatment. It has a really thick, balmy texture that melts beautifully in your hands. This mask has the perfect texture to give yourself a nice facial massage. I love using it during the colder months but it works great for those moments when your skin is just craving a thick layer of nourishment. You can apply a thick layer and then remove a bit with a tissue after a while or you just apply a relatively thick layer and then leave it on. You will wake up with soft, plump and well-rested skin. I adore (yes adore!) this product and it’s one of those products that I will definitely repurchase as soon as I will run out.

Vital Balm Cream

This is another amazing product from the line. It has an amazing scent (hello blue tansy!) and a relatively thick texture. It’s like a balm moisturizer hybrid. Similar to the advanced hydration mask this product also contains Indian senna seed extract for that extra hydration. Not only does it hydrate your skin, but it repairs it at the same time. I used it day and night during the colder months and it really helped my skin. It might feel thick at first but when you massage it onto your skin it really melts and leaves your skin plump, hydrated and nourished. I recommend it for basically all skin types that can tolerate a slightly thicker moisturizer (my skin doesn’t feel suffocated or clogged).
Tinted Nutrient Day Cream SPF 30

This tinted face cream has a really nice texture, is moisturizing but not greasy. It doesn't feel heavy on my skin nor pore clogging and I would say it dries semi-matte. The tint is perfect for my skin tone but it’s better to check if it matches yours. The tint doesn’t have a lot of coverage but I prefer it over the untinted version. This product is a mineral sunscreen with a broad spectrum SPF of 30. They use high quality uncoated, non-nano, high micron zinc oxide and I have tried the untinted version and can say that it doesn't leave a white cast. This product helps to regenerate, moisturize and protect the skin due to all the oils that this product contains.
I have also tried some samples of other products from the line and I definitely want to add the Cacao Antioxidant Mask to my collection. It leaves my skin purified, hydrated and just feeling and looking great.
Have you tried any of the products from the line or which one would you love to try?
